Wow. We just got back from a few days in NYC and it’s stunning how much $$$ we spent. Even though it’s only a few hours away from Boston, I think we could’ve flown to the Caribbean for almost the same total trip price! Parking is expensive, hotels are expensive, food is expensive…

And lines! Lines everywhere! Waiting in line to check-in, waiting in line for tickets, waiting in line for tourist sites, waiting in line for lunch and dinner… Part of it might have been because of Valentine’s Day weekend, but I think we ended up spending half of the weekend just standing in line.

Part of me loves New York: the density of people and business makes you feel like there’s a wealth of opportunities just waiting to be discovered. If only there weren’t a million other people trying to discover those opportunities at the same time you are…
