I thought my undergrad dining hall was pretty amazing, but it’s nothing compared to what HBS has. Hand-rolled sushi, full Starbucks-style coffee bar, rotating gourmet meals, chandelier-clad dining area… they go out of their way to make sure that everything about it oozes prestige and wealth.
Thankfully (and surprisingly), the prices aren’t bad at all! They must be subsidized to some degree. In the lower-class “Grille” in the basement, they’ll grill fresh salmon for you with two huge side items for only $6! I’m not sure you could even buy an equivalent piece of salmon for that price. Anyway, it’s definitely worth checking out if you ever find yourself in Cambridge area… Here are some photos from my dinner the other night (a design-it-yourself skillet-cooked pasta combo: cheese tortellini, sausage, spinach, artichokes, tomatoes, and brocolli for $6):
Oh, did I mention that the breakfast is also fabulous? I meet my learning team every morning at 7:30 am, and breakfast consists of my choice of: freshly-cut pineapple, strawberries or oatmeal with pecans and walnuts or croissant with egg, cheese, and ham… Mmmmmm… Almost makes it worth waking up that early (but not quite).
